Brief Job Overview

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager and Supervisors, the Maintenance Technician will be a key part of our team. Our Technicians are responsible for keeping the bakery running efficiently and driving continuous improvement forward through our PM program and special projects. Every individual on our team has specific strengths that help to drive innovation and productivity forward. Our entire Maintenance Management team started with the organization as a Technician. This gives them the foundation and working knowledge of the plant that helps create a motivated crew. Our management team is not afraid of turning a wrench and lending a hand when needed.

The Ideal Candidate

The Bakery Cos. is looking for a self-motivated, service-minded, well-rounded Maintenance Technician. The ideal candidate is an independent thinker that works well with a group of like-minded individuals. We can't stress well rounded enough for the role, we use the term "multi- craft" and we mean it. While you specialize as an electrician, machinist, or welder, the perfect person for this job gets excited by all of those things and wants to truly be in a place where they can utilize all of their strengths and enhance all their other skills.

Job Description:

Organize, and facilitate maintenance on all production and facility equipment with emphasis on equipment up time and to resolve quality and production related issues in the spirit of continuous improvement, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical troubleshooting.

Essential Functions:

  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair production equipment.
  • Installation, modification and fabrication of equipment to meet production needs and schedules.
  • Communicate maintenance situations clearly from one shift to another, including Maintenance Team Leader and Maintenance Manager.
  • Plant wide accountabilities for operational aspects including progress toward quality and production goals.
  • Participate in continuous improvement in safety, quality and housekeeping.
  • The ability to identify worn bushings or bearings and change as needed.
  • The ability or willingness to learn how to weld (Tig, Stick, and Mig Although we commonly use Tig).
  • Other tasks as determined by the Maintenance Manager.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision within a team environment
  • Must have good practical sense working with and troubleshooting equipment problems
  • Previous food manufacturing experience is preferred but NOT a must.
