Quality Assurance Technician



 The Bakery Cos. is one of the most exciting employment opportunities headquartered in Nashville! We are comprised of several high-speed industrial bakeries located in Tennessee, Georgia and South Dakota.  The Bakery Cos. manufactures assorted bread products for national and global brands such as McDonald's (ever had an Egg McMuffin?), Pepperidge Farm, Whole Foods, Wal-Mart, and Five Guys (yep, we make their buns).  The Bakery Cos. was established more than 20 years ago.  We take pride in living out our mission every day by Creating Opportunities, Making a Difference, and Impacting Lives.




Evaluates compliance of processes with established quality standards.  Monitors and adheres to quality assurance standards, processes, and controls for receiving, production, packaging storage and shipping of finished goods. Maintains documentation and provides information regarding outcomes of key performance indicators to interested parties. Participates in daily operation meetings, coordinates product reviews, facilitates efficient hold investigation and resolution, and analyzes production data. Maintains laboratory instrumentation, lab procedures, analytical recordkeeping, calibration, and high level of Good Laboratory Practices.




  • Monitor operation processes to ensure all products are manufactured to food safety and quality requirements.
  • Perform QC line product audits to include net weight, lot coding, quality, packaging integrity and raw material specifications checks.
  • Record quality control checks to assure control points are met.
  • Conduct SSOP performance standard and GMP audits.
  • Verify the routine metal detector checks.
  • Monitor adherence to GMP and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) throughout the facility.
  • Proactively address production issues that can adversely affect product safety and quality.
  • Accurately and promptly report, record and communicate all findings and non-conformances to QA and Department Management while providing feedback and recommendations as per QA Manager instructions and trainings.



  • Follow all GMP's, Food Defense and quality policies
  • Ensures all GMP and all food hygiene and safety standards are in compliance
  • Report all food safety incidents such as GMP violations, ingredient and product contamination, metal detector, screen or magnet deviancies', glass breakage, and pest harborage.



  • High School Diploma
  • One year of experience working in a food manufacturing is preferred
  • Able to work flexible schedule and weekends
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be flexible to work overtime, weekends and holidays
  • Food manufacturing environment experience



  • Work in a noisy environment for length of shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Reach above shoulder height.
  • Able to bend, twist, stand, climb stairs/ladders, push/pull, and walk for the length of shift.



  • Work in a noisy environment.
  • Work in an enclosed indoors area.
  • Work in wet and/or humid conditions.
  • Work in cold or hot environments.
  • Work around machinery
