Hours/ Shift:

  • Tuesday through Saturday- 1 PM to 11 PM  (Subject to change to accommodate production requirements)
  • On call for onsite troubleshooting assistance
  • Occasional PTO coverage and Project Management outside of normal schedule

 The Role

The Night Shift Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for managing the maintenance teams and scheduling labor and work to ensure the operations meets production goals. This position plays an integral role by promoting continuous improvement in safety, productivity, efficiency, and quality. The Maintenance Supervisor assist in managing all aspects of the maintenance department with a focus in root cause analysis, scheduling, and improving the PM processes.


Employee, PM and Downtime management

  • Understand and improve the Preventive Maintenance processes within our PM software.
  • Creating the monthly mechanic schedule and maintaining the monthly labor budget
  • Assigning daily duties and work orders to the mechanics daily.
  • Investigating and documenting line down time with the use of KPI's and performing root cause analysis to prevent reoccurring equipment issues and waste.
  • Prioritizing work in compliance with the production schedule.
  • Take lead on weekly projects and over see contracted work.
  • Strong follow ups on projects completed.
  • Maintaining an awareness of the production schedule and keeping the mechanics informed on upcoming runs.
  • Assist mechanics on trouble shooting equipment issue's when needed.
  • Creating the monthly reports on down time and resolutions to equipment issues.


People and Organization

  • Establish and maintain relationships with all personnel in and outside of the department to ensure a focused effort on the elimination downtime, waste and the improvement of safety.
  • Provide and ensure effective leadership, performance management, and skills development for all department personnel.
  • Ensure all personnel are adhering to company policies including food processing regulation and safety.
  • Assist in work instruction and procedure creation to drive repeatable results.
  • Maintain all necessary documentation to ensure department maintains compliance.
  • Assist in managing employees time to ensure effective labor utilization.
  • Set and maintain clear expectations for department personnel.
  • Assist personnel in troubleshooting equipment issue's when needed.
  • Lead and assist personnel in root cause analysis of efficiency losses.


Required skills: 

  • Proficient in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • PLC troubleshooting preferred
  • Maintain effective professional relationship with all plant personnel and out vendors
  • Inventory management preferred
  • Strong computer skills in Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and experience in CMMS systems
