Production Associate

JOB TITLE:  Production Associate

DEPARTMENT: Cornerstone-Croissant Production                   

SALARY: Hourly

Reporting Structure: Production Supervisor


Job Summary:

Our production associate is responsible for overseeing and performing a wide variety of tasks in order to produce high quality product that conforms with customer specifications.  The production associate is responsible for assisting in duties related to keeping the line running smoothly. The Bakery Cos. Vision, Mission and Values should be carried out by the production associate in these important functions.


Essential Functions:

  • Complete various production tasks as assigned by production operator.
  • Forms raw croissants into sandwich shapes and adjusts product placement on pans.
  • Clears pan jams from line, removes and adds baking pans as needed.
  • Troubleshoots basic causes of line stops and restarts production.
  • Assist the production operator in line startups and changeovers.
  • Oversee product quality and ensure product being produced in in compliance with customer specifications.
  • Maintain high rates of production as set by the Operator and Production Supervisor.
  • Supplies the Rademaker with dusting flour.
  • Separates rework from raw dough waste whenever possible to minimize waste.
  • Monitor and deliver side trimmings to mixer; notify operator when side trimmings exceed acceptable rates.
  • Familiar with Rademaker operation and can notify operators of abnormal circumstances.
  •  Removes all out-of-spec product from the line and notifies Production Supervisor of all non-conforming product or processes on the line.
  •  Contributes to a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Attends Monthly required safety meetings when applicable.
  • Performs other related responsibilities, as needed or directed by Production Supervisor and Manager, to support The Bakery Cos. business objectives.


Food Safety Responsibilities:

  • Follow all GMP's, Food Defense and quality policies.
  • Ensures compliance with all GMP, food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Report all food safety incidents such as GMP violations, ingredient and product contamination, metal detector, screen or magnet deviancies', glass breakage, and pest harborage.


Skills and Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Have received a High School Diploma or Equivalent.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be flexible with schedule, including start times and weekend work.
  • Willing to acquire a wide variety of skills to assist the surrounding team and fully understand the processes.
  • Drive for Results, Process Management, Integrity & Trust, Conflict Management, and Time Management.
  • Able to problem solve, learn on the fly, process and technical learning, and quality decision.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment as well as work independently.


Physical Demands:

  • Work in a noisy environment for length of shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Reach above shoulder height.
  • Able to bend, twist, stand, climb stairs/ladders, push/pull, and walk for the length of shift.
